New heated plates with probe

New heated plates with probe

30 of January of 24 - News

The thermal control of piglets in farrowing is one of the critical factors in managing this phase, especially during the first hours of the offspring’s life, but also in the following days to ensure a low mortality rate and correct development and growth of the animal.

On the other hand, beyond a reasonable temperature control in the places, it is vital to do it efficiently and optimise the heated panels’ energy consumption.

To this end, Rotecna has added new models with probes to its range of heated plates that allow more precise temperature regulation and detect whether the plate is occupied, self-regulating the temperature and preventing heat from dissipating into the environment.

The probe allows the heating system to self-regulate the temperature, so the energy consumption savings compared to other manual systems range from 9% to 34%, depending on whether or not animals occupy the hob.

In addition, it must be taken into account that if, in addition to heated plates, you work with nests, the energy savings can be even more remarkable since, in particular environmental conditions and with animals of a certain age, it may be viable to have the heated plate turned off since the microclimate created by the animals inside the nest is sufficient.

PIGLET WELFARE AND COMFORT

Furthermore, the feel of the surface, the temperature distribution and the lightness of the Rotecna heated plates, made of plastic, are other comfort and well-being advantages of this family of products compared to other more porous and heavier materials. In addition, its soft and comfortable surface provides a special non-slip finish.

Finally, the use of plastic as a material also provides greater efficiency by preventing heat from dissipating into the environment and maintaining a homogeneous temperature on the surface of the plate so that the piglets do not lose their body heat.

FEATURES

  • Dimensions (mm): 1200x400, 1200x500, 1200x600.
  • Non-slip surface.
  • There are no nooks and crannies where dirt can accumulate.
  • Lighter weight, between 3.5 and 9.5 kilos.
  • Reduction in connections and wiring (4 m of cable).

ADVANTAGES

  • Self-regulation of the system depends on whether the board is occupied or not.
  • Savings of between 9% and 34% in energy consumption.
  • It evenly distributes the temperature over the surface.
  • Greater comfort for piglets.
