Fattening / WTF
Solutions for fattening and wean to finish
The fattening, or finishing, phase starts as the piglets leave the transition phase, at between 9 and 14 weeks, and ends when the pigs are sent to slaughter when they reach 85-170 kg (depending on the requirements of each market). The main objective of farmers in this phase is to achieve a good feed/kg of meat conversion rate, given that the cost of feed in this phase is the main production cost.
To do this, it is paramount to achieve the optimal rate of growth and limit feed wastage to the minimum. Hygiene and disinfection of the facilities is another of the challenges in this phase, since maintaining the ideal conditions ensures proper health standards and prevents production and financial losses. Rotecna has a wide range of products that meet all of these requirements.
