New feed dispenser for sows

Driven by the continuous improvement that defines Rotecna, we are launching a new version of the successful Feeding Ball, featuring a redesigned feed adjustment and internal mechanism disassembly system to make handling easier for farmers.

FAST AND RELIABLE ADJUSTMENT

The main difference compared to the previous Feeding Ball design is the replacement of the threaded locking handle used to secure the feed adjustment with a new push-button system. Feed dosage can now be adjusted simply by pressing a button, making the process much faster, easier and more reliable.

EASY DISASSEMBLY

The Rotecna Feeding Ball can be disassembled from the bottom using just one hand, without the need to empty or remove the upper hopper beforehand.

In addition, the new design allows the adjustment handle to be removed, enabling complete disassembly of the dispenser's internal mechanism once it has been detached from its support. The handle can be inserted into the support itself, preventing it from being misplaced while the mechanism is being serviced.

MAXIMISES FEED INTAKE AND MINIMISES FEED WASTE

The Feeding Ball is a slow-drop ad libitum feed dispenser specially designed for farrowing units and weaned sows. Animals quickly learn how the mechanism works thanks to their natural rooting behaviour and the easy access to the oscillating ball.

It also allows each sow to regulate its own feed intake according to appetite while providing access to fresh feed 24 hours a day, helping to maximise feed consumption.

Feed waste is also minimised, as large quantities of feed are not dispensed all at once. The Feeding Ball can also be installed beneath a feed dispenser to limit the maximum daily feed allowance.

HELPS INCREASE WATER INTAKE

The Feeding Ball is installed in a trough that can be fitted with either a nipple drinker or a water level valve. Adding water to the feed increases both feeding speed and feed and water intake.

Available with either a stainless steel or plastic support, both versions deliver excellent performance. Since its launch in 2004, the Feeding Ball has become the preferred choice of many of our customers for increasing feed and water intake in farrowing facilities.
