Slurry separator with certified separation efficiency

Slurry separator with certified separation efficiency

01 of June of 22 - News

Rotecna has obtained an official resolution proposal from the Generalitat de Catalunya, certifying the overall separation performance of N 63% P 74% K 61.5% for the slurry treatment system, developed by Rotecna under the Tecnapur trademark.

The certification process, led by a group of experts, has been based on the data and samples of slurry analyzed by an independent laboratory on a pig farm in Serós (Lleida), for over a whole year.

In the resolution of the Generalitat de Catalunya, it is detailed that, during the test, the type of slurry was unfavorable for good performance, so the separation in regular use will be significantly higher than that certified for now.

Tecnapur technology consists of the treatment of slurry through a series combination of solid-liquid separators (S/L) by pressure and by flocculation, decantation of the liquid fraction and solar drying of the solid fraction, both acidified.

The process begins with a reception and homogenization basin, followed by a mechanical S/L separation in two sieves with double pressing and scraping (a system that does not allow the animal hair to pass into the liquid fraction). Next, the separated liquid fraction (FL) goes through a second physical-chemical S/L separation process, with the addition of coagulant and acidification in a first chamber, and flocculant in a second, with precipitation of the settled solids. The solid fraction (SF) obtained from the two separators goes through a solar drying process, and the final FL goes through a decantation process to obtain a clarified liquid, suitable for precision irrigation systems, including drip irrigation.

The implementation of this system allows a significant reduction in the volume of the liquid to be managed, which also has a reduction in the concentration of nutrients, for which a much smaller amount of land will be necessary for its management as fertilizer, which can also be done by fertigation. In addition, emissions due to acidification and reduction of organic matter in the liquid phase will be reduced.

In addition, the solid phase contains a high concentration of nutrients and organic matter, making it a high-value product that is easy to transport, especially if it is composted.

The Tecnapur system requires a moderate level of investment and has an energy and additive consumption that allows a low operating cost, which makes this system the most profitable, by separation index, on the market.
